Consul General Gince Kuruvilla Mattam attended the inauguration ceremony of the Kolkata - Kunming cargo flight by Indigo Airlines, organized by the Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd. The event also saw participation by Yunnan Provincial Government, Kunming City Government and Customs as well as Immigration officials.

Speaking at the event, Consul General emphasized the mutual benefit of sustainable trade ties and congratulated Indigo Airlines and local partner Megacap for their contributions in this regard through operationalising the Kolkata - Kunming cargo route. He welcomed the arrival of fresh marine products from India to Kunming, and urged businesses to make full use of the new route.

He thanked Mr Jia Suo, Party Secretary and Chairman, Kunming Airport as well as the relevant Chinese authorities for their support and cooperation in facilitating the newly opened route.

He also appreciated the efforts of China Eastern Airlines in recently resuming Kunming - Kolkata passenger flights. He expressed hope that the new passenger and cargo flight connectivity between Kolkata and Kunming would bring mutual benefits and enhance mutual understanding.
