On August 18, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh hosted the pre-departure reception for the 2026 Training Program for Bangladeshi Diplomats in China. Ambassador Yao Wen attended and addressed the reception. Mr. M. Forhadul Islam, Secretary of Intergovernmental Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered remarks. Ambassador Muhammad Abdul Muhith, Rector of the Foreign Service Academy, all the trainees about to depart for the training in China, and diplomats of the Embassy were present at the event.

Ambassador Yao noted that China-Bangladesh relations now stand at a new historical starting point, and that young diplomats represent the future of the friendship between the two countries. He expressed the hope that the Bangladeshi trainees would make this journey to China one of ideas, of practice, and of dialogue, and translate what they see, hear and learn into concrete actions to promote China-Bangladesh friendship.

Mr. Forhadul Islam thanked the Chinese side for its thoughtful organization of the training, noting that the training program in China for young diplomats has become a flagship project of diplomatic cooperation between Bangladesh and China. He expressed confidence that, through this visit, the trainees will further deepen their understanding of China's development path and foreign policy philosophy, and contribute to the growth of Bangladesh-China relations.
