On August 10, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Zhang Maoming of China called on Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Balendra Shah of Nepal. The two sides exchanged views on Nepal-China relations, bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and topics of shared interests.

Prime Minister Balendra stated that Nepal attaches great importance to Nepal-China traditional friendship. The Nepali side stands ready to work with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across the board so as to advance bilateral relations and better benefit the people of both countries.

Ambassador Zhang Maoming congratulated Prime Minister Balendra on his achievements in governance since taking office, reaffirmed China's firm support to Nepal, and stated that the Chinese side would like to work with Nepal to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, and continuously deepen the Nepal-China Strategic Partnership of Cooperation Featuring Ever-lasting Friendship for Development and Prosperity.
