Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong Meets with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

On July 27th, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to exchange views on China-Pakistan relations and the international and regional situation.

Prime Minister spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes of his visit to China in May this year, stating that Pakistan attaches great importance to promoting the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China and deepening their all-weather strategic cooperation. He expressed Pakistan’s readiness to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China as an opportunity to advance all-dimensional cooperation in major projects, agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence and other areas. He thanked China for its support of Pakistan’s mediation role in the Middle East situation and expressed willingness to strengthen communication and coordination with China to jointly maintain regional peace and stability.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong stated that China is ready to work with Pakistan to continue implementing the outcomes of Prime Minister’s visit to China, take the important consensuses between the two countries’ leaders as guidance, and accelerate the development of the upgraded version of CPEC 2.0 to better benefit the peoples of both countries. He highly appreciated Pakistan’s proactive efforts and expressed continued support for Pakistan’s mediation role in restoring peace in the Middle East.
