Beijing, June 15th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Shisir Khanal, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal. 

Liu noted that China and Nepal are linked by mountains and rivers and enjoy a friendship that has endured for generations, setting an example of equality and friendly coexistence between countries of different sizes. In 2019, President Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to Nepal, during which the bilateral relationship was elevated to a strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity. China stands ready to work with Nepal to firmly support each other, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to continuously advance China-Nepal relations for more new outcomes. The CPC has long maintained regular and friendly exchanges with Nepal's major political parties, which have played an important role in the development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to consolidate and develop friendly ties with the RSP, intensify exchanges at all levels, strengthen strategic communication, enhance political mutual trust, deepen mutual learning of exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and through the "political party+" channel, to promote cooperation across all fields between the two countries, so as to contribute the strength of political parties to the development of China-Nepal relations. Liu also briefed the guest on the CPC's concept and experience of adhering to a people-centered approach and having the courage to conduct self-reform. 

Shisir said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than 70 years ago, Nepal and China have always respected each other and treated each other as equals while developing friendly relations on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. Nepal appreciates China's support for its development and its respect for Nepal's sovereignty and independence. Nepal firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and will never allow any forces to use its territory to engage in anti-China activities. The new Nepali government is committed to economic development and improving people's livelihoods and highly commends the tremendous achievements China has made under the leadership of the CPC. It is willing to work with China to achieve greater progress in connectivity and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as scientific and technological innovation, hydropower, agriculture, culture and tourism. The RSP attaches importance to its friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, learn from the CPC's experience in party governance and state administration, including combating corruption, and help enhance Nepal's governance capacity, so as to better benefit the Nepali people. 

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
