Your Excellency Wang Yubo, Governor of Yunnan Province, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good morning！

First of all, I would like to extend my thanks to the Yunnan Provincial Government and the organizing committee for their warm invitation. I am unfortunately unable to be in the beautiful Yunnan Province to attend the Forum, but I will closely follow and look forward to the Forum’s fruitful results.

Since June 2018, the China-South Asia Cooperation Forum has been successfully held for two sessions. The first two sessions have achieved fruitful results in strengthening regional cooperation in South Asia, enhancing connectivity, and promoting trade, investment and people-to-people exchange. Yunnan Province, as an important window of cooperation with South Asian countries, has fully utilized its own advantages to carry out practical cooperation with South Asian countries, thus opening up a new pattern of all-round cooperation between China and South Asian countries, and promoting economic development benefitial to the people of the region.

The friendship between Oman and China, which can be traced back to over 1,200 years ago, continues to grow and develope till today. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1978, practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields has been expanding rapidly. In 2018, the two countries established a strategic partnership, opening a new chapter of cooperation. This year, for the first time, the China-South Asia Cooperation Forum has included cooperation with the Indian Ocean Rim. As an important country in the Indian Ocean Rim, Oman is willing to actively participate in the Forum and its related activities, and seek new opportunities for win-win cooperation with China.

Finally, on behalf of the Government of Oman and the Embassy of Oman in China, I wish the 3rd China-South Asia Cooperation Forum every success.
