班迭棉吉省位于柬埔寨西北部，属柬埔寨23个省之一，距柬埔寨首都金边360公里，西部和北部与泰国接壤，南部是柬埔寨马德望省，东部是暹粒省。全省面积6679平方公里，人口约58万人。班迭棉吉省文化历史悠久，经济和社会事业有一定发展基础，在农业、小型工业、制造业、旅游业、娱乐业和边贸领域发展潜力巨大。省内辖波贝口岸，是柬埔寨和泰国间重要的陆路口岸，柬泰间进出口贸易大多途经波贝口岸，口岸经济较为发达。

　　云南省与班迭棉吉省于2011年12月6日正式缔结友好省关系。自结好以来，双方在高层互访和各领域的合作取得实质性的成果。双方合作建设了“中国云南—柬埔寨班迭棉吉农业科技友谊示范园”项目，旨在加强双方农业科技交流与合作，推动双方农业科技进步、促进双方农业共同发展。云南农业职业技术学院赴班迭棉吉省开展了6期专业技术培训，通过参观学习，让柬方技术人员和当地农民掌握了一定的现代农业技术，有利于当地农业生产水平的持续提高。

Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia

Located in northwestern Cambodia, 360 km from capital city Phnom Penh, Banteay Meanchey Province is one of the 23 provinces in Cambodia. It borders Thailand in the west and north, Battambang Province in the south, and Siem Reap Province in the east. With an area of 6679 square kilometers and a population of about 580,000, Banteay Meanchey enjoys a long history and a great potential for the development of agriculture, small industries, manufacturing, tourism, entertainment and border trade. Poipet port under its jurisdiction is an important land port between Cambodia and Thailand. This well-developed port accommodates most of the Cambodian-Thai import and export.

Yunnan Province and Banteay Meanchey Province’s friendship-province relationship began on December 6, 2011. Since then, the two sides have seen substantive results in high-level visits and cooperation in various fields. The cooperative project of Yunnan-Banteay Meanchey Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park aims at strengthening bilateral exchanges, cooperation and development in agricultural science and technology. Yunnan Agricultural Technical College launched a six-session professional and technical training in Banteay Meanchey, teaching Cambodia technicians and local farmers modern agricultural technology through study tours, helping the farmers improve the local agricultural production.
